A big THANK YOU to former, long-time Sherman attorney, Roger Sanders and the Grayson County Bar Association for sending these Washington Elementary School 4th graders to Austin, TX this December!

Sanders made a donation to GCBA, who then elected to donate $10,000 in his honor to recognize his love of Texas and its history. That donation will fund the “Proud to be a Texan” field trip for the entire class, which encompasses a full day in Austin to visit the Bullock Texas State History Museum and the Texas State Capitol. Students will learn about Texas history and government with a focus on the Texas Revolution, the regions of Texas, and the legislative process, correlating with what they are learning in social studies!

Today, Sanders and some representatives of GCBA presented a check and announced the big trip. We’re so appreciative of these generous donations so Sherman students can experience some amazing educational opportunities!
