GCBA Presents Seed Grant Suporting Office of Managed Assisted Counsel (MAC) Effort

On Thursday, May 11th at 11:30 AM at the Sherman Municipal Ballroom, the Grayson County Bar Association (GCBA) recognized the effort of local county officials to establish a new Office of Managed Assigned Counsel (MAC) in Grayson County.

Grayson County Commissioners recently approved the submission of a grant application for state funding for the establishment of a MAC, which provides oversight, management, and support of attorneys appointed to represent indigent defendants in criminal cases.

Court at Law Judge James Henderson, who is spearheading the MAC effort, presented a program on the issue. GCBA, along with the Grayson County Criminal Defense Lawyers’ Association also presented a $2,500 check as a seed grant to support the MAC effort.
