2022 Election of Officers

UPDATE: This slate of officers was approved. Thank you for your participation. See our current officer list.

Dear Friends of the Grayson County Bar Association,

A group of volunteers serving as temporary officers and board members is moving forward with revitalizing and enhancing the Grayson County Bar Association (“GCBA”). See what we are up to at graysoncountybar.org.

So far, we have served as interim officers/board members without election, but wish to remedy that in a few days by the election of new officers for the remainder of this year and for 2023. The election will take place via our website from 8:00 AM April 18th through 5:00 PM on April 24th (a link will be sent to current members).

To be eligible to vote, the GCBA must have received your membership payment by no later than 5:00 PM on April 14th. Membership payments can be made on our website or by delivery to Todd Estes (600 E Taylor St., Suite 4007, Sherman, TX 75090). Please be advised, however, that “the check’s in the mail” will not be considered received payment.

To simplify matters going forward, the interim GCBA Board volunteers are proposing a slate of officers for your consideration. Those officers are:

  • President: Tom Redwine for the remainder of 2022 and Joe Brown for 2023
  • President-Elect: Joe Brown for 2022
  • Executive Vice President: Becca Skupin for 2022-2023
  • Secretary: Laura Wheeler for 2022-2023
  • Treasurer: Todd Estes for 2022-2023
  • Parliamentarian: Christina Tillett for 2022-2023
  • Vice President Communications/Website: Elvin Smith for 2022-2023

However, if you wish to be considered for one of those positions, please notify graysoncountybar@gmail.com of the specific position you would like to be considered for by no later than 5:00 PM on April 14th. Please confirm with Denise Lovelace at 903-870-0070 that your notice has been received. If no one comes forward to be considered, the election will proceed, validating the authority of the bar membership for the officers to conduct the Bar’s affairs.

Thanks for your friendship, and we look forward to seeing you at a GCBA event soon.

Laura Wheeler
GCBA Interim Secretary
